Our Involvement
After returning back to the Crowsnest Pass after being gone for a few years, we jumped back at the chance to get more involved with the community. We have been volunteering with the Crowsnest Pass Bear Smart Team and help the local Fish and Wildlife with animal location and search assistance. We have learnt so much from the amazing Bear Smart team and now help teach courses to the public and also with the Team at the Canadian Bear Safety Authority.

We also work along side with 40 Developmental Assets CNP. We have teamed up to give local grade 7 to 12 kids the chance to learn some basic outdoor survival skills, ice fishing and campout. We are firm believers that the young should be given a chance to learn something new and grow.

Hiking to Window Mountain Lake, and stand up paddle boarding this beautiful lake, has been on my “to do” list for some time. But, given some restrictive medical conditions, I always felt the hike was out of my reach. Brent took his time with me, and even though it took us almost twice the time to hike the trail, he was a patient and understanding guide. Thanks Brent for making this dream a reality.

I have lived in southern Alberta for most of my life and I thought I had seen the best of what the Crowsnest Pass has to offer. Well I was wrong! During the covid shut down and the inability to travel, we decided to do a staycation. Brent guided us to some of the lesser known gems the Crowsnest Pass has to offer, places only a true local would know. Thanks again Brent for opening my eyes to the beauty and wonders within my own back yard.

During our hike to Lille, Brent was able to show us historical areas and structures we had missed in all our previous adventures. When we arrived at the abandoned townsite, Brent brought the site to life describing details of the town from the past. Overall it was a very informative and enjoyable experience. Definitely recommend!

As a Fish and Wildlife Officer in the Crowsnest Pass area for the past 24 years , I believed I had a good understanding of the local history and landscape. One day last year I had the opportunity to attend a hike with Brent Koinberg and my family. During this adventure Brent immediately fell into the role as a guide and historian. The day was very informative and educational, learning more about the history and landscape of the area which I was not aware of. Brent is well spoken and knowledgeable which made the day quite enjoyable.
